At Borrelli's, tradition isn't something we keep on a shelf. It's something we bake, cook and share every day.
The recipes for our breads, sauces and sweets have been carried through generations of the Borrelli family. From a fresh loaf of Italian bread to party pizza, cannoli and the foods that fill the table on holidays, these are the flavors our family grew up with and the ones we're proud to keep making for Rhode Island today.
From our family to yours, since 1948.
Borrelli’s Bakery began in 1948 when brothers Nick, Tommy and Carmine Borrelli II opened their first bakery in North Providence. With help from their sisters, nieces and nephews, it quickly became a true family business, built around fresh ingredients, dependable quality and the recipes they grew up with.
For decades, Rhode Island families came to Borrelli’s for fresh Italian bread, pastries, pizza, cakes and the familiar foods that made their way onto everyday tables and special occasions alike.
In 2005, Borrelli’s Bakery opened its Providence location, where you can still find us today on Charles Street. Under the leadership of Carmine Borrelli III, a new generation carried the bakery forward while keeping family at the center of everything.
Today, Borrelli’s continues to make breads, pastries, party pizza, cakes, prepared foods and plenty more for customers throughout Providence and Rhode Island. Some have been coming to us for decades. Others are just discovering the bakery for the first time.
Borrelli’s has been fortunate to receive support from local newspapers, radio, publications such as Rhode Island Monthly, and the Rhode Island community over the years. But the support that matters most has always come from the customers who continue to walk through our doors.
After three generations, many of those customers feel like part of the Borrelli family themselves. We’re grateful to everyone who has helped keep this neighborhood bakery going, and we hope to keep serving Rhode Island for many years to come.
We hope to see you around Charles Street.
